1. Avoid alcohol in flight. Alcohol affects the body clock by not giving you a full and refreshing sleep.
2. With the pressurized air in the cabin your body dehydrates substantially, try to drink as much water as possible.
3. Move around when in-flight: walk up and down the plane, stand up and do dome stretching exercises That will keep the blood circulating and stop the joints from stiffening.
4. While seated, swirl your ankles around from time to time. Also, move the toes outward and inward.
5. Listen to some relaxation music. I have found that when I listen to hypnotic training programs like the one from Wendi.com, I tend to fall asleep pretty fast while following.
6. When you arrive at your destination and it is day time, try to stay awake by going outdoors and into the sunshine. That will help alter your body clock, while your body can adjust to the other time zone more quickly.
7. If you eyelids are drooping and you feel more and more sleepy, then set you alarm for two hours time. Nap for that period of time to keep yourself refreshed.
Even though I’m a warm-blooded woman, yet this year something extraordinary has happened.
One afternoon a few days ago, I suddenly felt my right foot very painful.
I thought, “What on earth happened? I didn’t bump into something or hurt myself, what could be the case?”
So, I take a look and find to my amazement that my middle right toe has been all red and swollen to 1.5 of its regular size. Moreover, as I examine further I saw to my horror, my nail instead of somewhere in the middle of my toe has now moved to the far left because the right side has ballooned so much.
My right big toe is also swollen as well.
Wow, I didn’t go outside and still because of the freezing weather I have my first “frostnip.”
Can you believe it?
Being a natural therapist, I consult my books to seek remedies.
I found two easy ones when frostnip first starts:
1. put some pork oil (made from frying the fatty part of the pork, leave the oil cold before applying), this will prevent the affected area turns into open wound
2. gently rub with chili sauce mixed with cooking wine
Now before I find out these solutions, the night before I go to bed, I applied some Oronine H ointment to my toes, and next day indeed my foot feels less pain and less swollen.
Curiously, I look at the applications and alas indeed this ointment is beneficial to frost bite.
Oronine Ointment, made in Japan , is an excellent cream used for all types of skin conditions. It can be used as an everyday moisturizer, acne and pimple remedy, for insect bites, pain caused by burns, athlete’s foot, psoriasis, eczema, ringworm, frost bite, aftershave and even for diaper rash!
So after two applications, I almost feel no pain although the swell is not all gone yet.
You can get the Oronine H ointment in some Chinese and Japanese grocery stores, and if you want one, you can get it online here.
If you live in any below-zero region and if you enjoy skiing or other winter activities, it might be a good idea to carry a jar with you just in case.
Last week I got together with a friend after a long time.
We are in the same vicinity but because of our busy life we seldom have had the chance to meet.
I was shocked to learn from her that she rarely goes out these days because she has experienced many panic attacks, and she’s just so fearful that she rather locks herself in the house.
Well, I have never experienced such a horrible condition, but I can well imagine how terrified she must have felt when panic attack happens.
I have been robbed once. To say it was traumatic is an understatement. After that for a long time I was feeling so unsafe, and I always feel apprehensive when someone walking close and behind me.
She says she is now on medication, but she is never sure if she’s safe from such attacks again.
To think that you are always terrified about something that might happen, and when it happens you have no control upon is very scary indeed.
With so many demands upon ourselves, life is so hectic that even holiday like Christmas is very stressful for our little body.
That just shows even if we are not a victim of panic attacks and anxiety victim, we need to always take time out to relax and unwind so we can have more control of ourselves.

A 20-year study finds that smile is contagious and when you smile, the world smiles with you.
I do agree because many times when I am happy I smile to a stranger for no apparent reason, he/she smiles back!
“Happiness is like a stampede,” said Nicholas Christakis, a professor in Harvard University’s sociology department and co-author of the study. “Whether you’re happy depends not just on your own actions and behaviors and thoughts, but on those of people you don’t even know.”
While the study is another sign of the power of social networks, it ran through 2003, just before the rise of social networking Web sites like Friendster, MySpace and Facebook. Christiakis couldn’t say for sure whether the effect works online.
“This type of technology enhances your contact with friends, so it should support the kind of emotional contagion we observed,” he said.
Another interesting findings is that obesity and smoking habits spread socially as well.
For this study, published in the British journal BMJ, they examined questionnaires that asked people to measure their happiness. They found distinct happy and unhappy clusters significantly bigger than would be expected by chance.
Happy people tended to be at the center of social networks and had many friends who were also happy. Having friends or siblings nearby increased people’s chances of being upbeat. Happiness spread outward by three degrees, to the friends of friends of friends.
Happy spouses helped, too, but not as much as happy friends of the same gender. Experts think people, particularly woman, take emotional cues from people who look like them.
Christakis and Fowler estimate that each happy friend boosts your own chances of being happy by 9 percent. Having grumpy friends decreases it by about 7 percent.
But it also turns out misery don’t love company: Happiness seemed to spread more consistently than unhappiness. But that doesn’t mean you should drop your gloomy friends.
“Every friend increases the probability that you’re at the center of a network, which means you are more eligible to get a wave of happiness,” Fowler said.
Being happy also brings other benefits, including a protective effect on your immune system so you produce fewer stress hormones, said Andrew Steptoe, a psychology professor at University College London who was not involved with the study.
But you shouldn’t assume you can make yourself happy just by making the right friends.
The study was only conducted in a single community, so it would take more research to confirm its findings. But in a time of economic gloom, it also suggested some heartening news about money and happiness.
Do you want to be happier, feel more energized, and achieve more of your potentials?
Is it too hard to do?
Not with the following guide.
Here are 10 ways to raise your vibrations:
1. DON’T give away your power to people. Take responsibility for your life. If things aren’t going as hoped in your life, re-examine your deepest beliefs. Swap limiting beliefs for empowering ones.
2. DO get a pet! According to Power vs. Force, a purring cat vibrates at 500 (wow, more than a human usually does!). Even if your situation would not allow for a pet, go to friends who have one. Play and spend time with their pets. Volunteer at pet shop for a few hours a week.
3. DON’T watch movies that drag you down. According to Power vs. Force, this is most films. Watch movies that will make you feel good. Listen to music that fills you with positive emotions. Read
books that empower you. Remember. garbage in, garbage out.
4. DO focus on what you want in your life, not what you don’t want - remember the law of attraction… You have the power to create the life of your dreams - even if the world around you seems messed up, don’t lose focus…
5. DO imagine that what you dream of is in your life now, and feel grateful for it now …and after that think of 10 more things to be grateful for. Feel it with emotion.
6. DO have fun. Life is about being happy. Don’t wait until you have this or that… Don’t put off happiness. Live now. Enjoy now.
7. DO seek to discover the truth about the meaning of your life. The answers are there if you look for them. Awareness and peace of mind are high vibrations.
8. DO use tools and strategies to help you achieve higher levels of consciousness, such as meditation and the free Alpha audio.
9. DON’T watch too much news on television. It is filled with negativity which lowers your vibrations. (Why is 95% of all news all the time focused on bad news?) If you want to keep abreast of current
affairs search the internet for independent, unbiased news. Seek the truth. Trust your intuition. This will also help give you a much more balanced view of reality. There’s lots of good news out there if you’re looking for it… Every day, get into a habit of looking for cheerful, uplifting and heart-warming news.
10. DO help other people. Join activist sites like www.Avaaz.org that collect petitions to help humanity. Forgiveness, compassion and understanding are good vibrations.
Nowadays with our work and lifestyle we have over-used and strained our eyes so much and many times our eyes are tired, dry and become even painful, and so here I offer you a few easy-to-do steps to help your eyes become more healthy and beautiful.
1. If you are like one of us who stare at the monitor 16 hours a day, every few hours you should stop your normal activity, look far away especially if you could look out in the window, look at trees, cloud, sky etc, so you can strengthen your eyes muscles.
2. Without turning your head, roll your eyes to look up, down, look to the left, and to the right. Do this a couple of times.
3. Turn your head to the left and to the right as far as you could. Roll your head clockwise and then anti-clockwise.
4. With your hand, massage your opposite shoulder, neck areas.
5. Make a fist, gently pound on top and sides of the head. Your head will feel clear after that. You can even use a hairbrush or hair comb to do this.
6. Stand up and stretch. Put your hands up to the ceiling as straight and as far as you could. Move your waist as far as possible to the left, then to the middle and to the right. Do this three or four times.
7. Now, to moisture your eyes, you don’t really need artificial tears. I have found one sure way to do so and that is to do a few yawns. Because when you yawn, your eyes will naturally produce tears to moisture your eyes. Try it. After a few yawns, your eyes will feel so comfortable.
Now stop yourself from what you are doing, try it. You will feel wonderful afterward.
